About Our Program:
The AmeriCorps*VISTA program at Connecticut Campus Compact (CTCC) offers a great opportunity for individuals to join a cohort of service-driven colleagues to complete a year of service working with institutions of higher education and community-based organizations. The year of service is a great way to become involved in the community, develop professional and civic skills, and prepare for future work or education.
The CTCC AmeriCorps VISTA Program places VISTA members on campuses and at community host sites in order to create, expand, or enhance projects that lift people out of poverty, specifically through VISTA’s priority area of education.
CTCC VISTAs might work on projects that
- support K-12 education programs that improve educational outcomes for students in low-achieving elementary, middle, and high schools
- support post-secondary success programs for low income, at risk, students
- build capacity through mapping and linking educational organizations together to leverage resources to address educational and economic inequalities
- mobilize higher education resources to build the capacity of key community based partner(s) that serve low-income people.
This one-year, full-time service commitment through AmeriCorps VISTA program. Learn more at nationalservice.gov.
